DESIGN DIFFICULTIES - FLOWER GARDEN

I don't know if any of you share in my dilemma using the new lovely Flower Garden embossing folder from SU trying to get the embossed image on the left hand side of a card, without having to emboss on a separate piece of paper.

BUT, if you are...here is what I discovered (maybe everyone else already knew this, but I thought it was worth posting).

This first picture shows the folder and the end result.
You may also notice I've labeled the folder as to which side embosses and which side de-bosses (am I the only one who gets confused about this)?

Next shows the placement of my card stock into the embossing folder sliding it in enough to pass through the Big Shot (that odd color is just a shadow). The end result has a very slight indentation of the edge of the folder in the center of the card, but it is ever so slight and I think can be covered with whatever else you may be placing on the card.

Here is a picture of my finished card, as you can see the embossing is on the left side of the card. I know I can be obsessive about some things (and all my friends would agree), but I wanted the embossed image on the left side of the card front.

I hope this is clear and something you may wish to try.
Let me know if you have any questions concerning this procedure.

Thanks for looking!

Graduation

It's that time of year when we all seem to need a few Graduation cards.
Here are a few of the ones I made.

Here's a peek at the three little words inside!

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment!

WEDDING & ANNIVERSARY CARDS

It's been a while since I posted but here are a couple of cards I made during my blog absence!
Hope you like them.

The cards are made for both a wedding and an anniversary using SU Manhattan Flower Embossing folder, one of my fav's.
I used SU vellum paper to emboss, cut away the excess paper, ran a glue stick over the embossed edges and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. Sentiment on wedding card stamped from Word Play stamp set with a rhinestone added over the "o" for a little more bling. Added a wrap-around ribbon of seam binding (another of my fav's).

The Anniversary card was made using the same EF, vellum paper and dazzling diamonds for bling which makes it a real show-stopper, I think (although it is difficult to see the diamonds).
Sentiment from SU's Happy Everything in Baja Breeze ink add some Tiny Tag's also stamped in BB and tied onto white satin ribbon.

Thanks for looking and check back, I've got some graduation cards coming up too.

THINGS TO SHARE

This is a card I made for someone turning the big "70".

The paper made be think of old 45 records so I added a few circles with the numbers representing the different years and continued inside saying "70's" (forgot again to take a picture of the inside, sorry).

Supplies: Paper from PTI
Sentiments computer generated

This second card is for a friend from her animals for Mother's Day.
Flowers, bones, and heart were colored using colored marking pens from SU.

Supplies: Stamp SU's Friends Fur-ever
Embossing folder -SU
Paper Bermuda Bay & scraps DSP

Also,

Thought I'd share a photo of the beautiful flowers I received for Mother's Day from my daughter and her family, aren't they gorgeous all in purple, even the glass vase was purple! (although in the photo I know they look pink, but not).

RETRO MOTHER'S DAY

Hi all, hope your Mother's Day cards are in the mail by now.

I'm sharing a card I made for my daughter for Mother's Day, but I couldn't post it until I knew she had received it in the mail. I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out, I couldn't be happier (unless I had made 2 at the same time, why do I never do that)?
I know you're thinking what's so special about this card...well I'll tell you,the zig-zag design is not paper but stamping, yup I stamped it. The stamp is called Background Basics: Chevron Stripes. There are 7 stamps in the set and you can use one of them, some of them, or all of them at once or separately! It took a little getting the hang of, but it finally clicked for me. Listed below are the supplies I used.
Notice too how I stamped the envelope with the large label stamp, it was just waiting for my daughter's name!
Thanks for stopping by again, love to hear from you.

P.S. Once again I forgot to take a picture of the presents, but they were wrapped in white paper with a belly band of old olive with a narrow strip of the zig-zag cs on top of the old olive, (sigh)!

MERCI (again)

I'm really loving this sentiment Merci. This quick and easy card was created with Turning a New Leaf stamp set, which I love. Of course if it has trees or branches on it I'm going to love it! My card stock is another favorite Old Olive with the image stamped using the same color ink for a subtle look.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside but I added a slightly smaller white card for a hand written message. As you can see I couldn't stop myself and had to stamp the envelope as well!

Hope you like this card as much as I do, I'd love to hear from you
