<br />
I've made this card previously and liked it so much decided to make it again. I like the look of the white on white with just a touch of gold, the embossed background makes it elegant looking I think.<br />

<br />
Wow, that's a lot of challenges <a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/">The Paper Players</a> have challenged all of us devoted crafters to make.<br />
<br />
Thought I'd join in the festivities with my latest birthday card taking inspiration literally from the theme picture showing balloons which I stenciled as my focal point. I added a sprinkling of tiny stars in silver ink for a bit of glam. Printed a sentiment on a strip of CS and done! A very CAS almost one layer card, cept for the sentiment.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Thought I'd enter my "bird" card for Jaydee's challenge at <a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/">The Paper Players </a>blog, so here it is. I just happened to be making this card for my son-in-law's birthday and thought it fit the challenge nicely.<br />

<br />
<br />
I borrowed this stamp set from my good friend Diane Oliver over at <a href="http://dianeoliver.blogspot.com/"><b><i>Rubber and Rafters</i></b></a>. She must have at least a thousand stamp sets, dies, etc., and when I'm here for the summer she allows me to go pick and choose to my hearts content.<br />
The stamp set is from Papertrey Ink called <b><i>Feather Finery</i></b>, I love the detail in the gorgeous feather. I used Stampin' Up's new Blueberry Bushel ink, which is a gorgeous blue along with some gold embossing powder for the dots amongst the feather as well as the sentiment and a strip of gold foil paper along the side. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink called <i><b>Just Desserts</b></i>. The little blue bird is also from the Feather Finery stamp set, I think he/she's adorable!<br />
Thanks for looking and hope you have time to leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you.<br />

PS<br />
Here's a peak at the inside of the card, also embossed with gold powder and another smaller bird.<br />

The stamp set is from Papertrey Ink's May release. It is a two-step stamp unlike some of their others, this one is a little more subtle I think.<br />
Anyhow here it is...<br />
<br />
For the background I used just the first stamping with Soft Stone ink in an all-over pattern. The focal image was stamped first in Amethyst Allure ink and the second stamping with Royal Velvet ink. I used a frame of Amethyst Allure cardstock before adhering to the base, stamped the sentiment and that was it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnOKHMAm6pRhxlbfxrsFLbKVXCDmKzUu5jSwuoh7SrFsK_IT82oQl_Gzi7e6Q31Jku-QvE4JH8g0OtD2lHHrUM8uKutvoMYEYeQbdrOQOpvK_DccRvrp-an6JSFF_iQObItKG3OwS44lvb/s1600/IMG_2063.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnOKHMAm6pRhxlbfxrsFLbKVXCDmKzUu5jSwuoh7SrFsK_IT82oQl_Gzi7e6Q31Jku-QvE4JH8g0OtD2lHHrUM8uKutvoMYEYeQbdrOQOpvK_DccRvrp-an6JSFF_iQObItKG3OwS44lvb/s320/IMG_2063.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It's definitely a different (for me) card image, but it's growing on me.<br />
Thanks for looking and hope to hear from you.<br />

This time it is Stampin' Up's Pacific Point card stock.<br />
<br />
Since we always seem to need many birthday cards I decided to make a few using this color and some of my floral dies.<br />
<br />
Here is the result...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9QzG9-e9AdpREEzQQJccIX1GH-lqBvaC3tc0PVg1v99662lDdqAHkNxptrpfwkCJAEpAV1V70MpGzBRft-pp5gAhY2AOmKn7T0qbI2fChJLxEUTnx5K-HMHutcNgBIMQHdQw1ED3A_Lcm/s1600/IMG_2028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9QzG9-e9AdpREEzQQJccIX1GH-lqBvaC3tc0PVg1v99662lDdqAHkNxptrpfwkCJAEpAV1V70MpGzBRft-pp5gAhY2AOmKn7T0qbI2fChJLxEUTnx5K-HMHutcNgBIMQHdQw1ED3A_Lcm/s320/IMG_2028.jpg" width="240" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you know SU colors this blue doesn't look like Pacific Point, it must be the outdoor light that makes it appear different. Anyhow my flowers are a two-step stamp, the first stamp I did in Pool Party and then stamped over it using the 2nd stamp in Pacific Point.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added a few sprigs of leaves using first Lucky Limeade followed up with the 2nd stamp using Gumball Green. I think the leaves and flowers have a lot of line detail that really adds to the stamps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Speaking of stamps the floral stamp I used is an older one from Papertrey In (PTI) called "The Sweet Life" . The sentiment is also from PTI, it is called "Birthday Cheer". I used two stitched die frames the blue just a little larger than the white one and adhered them together, I then splattered a little of the pool party color on both cards for a little added interest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's a close-up of the flowers you can see the pool party color peeking through, in real-life the flowers are quite lovely and in the close-up the Pacific Point color looks more like it's true color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Unfortunately I have need of a few sympathy cards and came up with this design, simple but appropriate I thought.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRh48EzrI2HKGBWar_yhceTsljOeV1hFfD8sBGMzOqTAmeI4VKlFBArYOSD8uNVwE_Qiq8d2Nvmjm-emBzEp9eJ4lW_hO-Lo0rtlLuxwS_NOuZUBqTmPkvw2BPoK1vJQvWFiy-DWPKO3NG/s1600/IMG_2020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRh48EzrI2HKGBWar_yhceTsljOeV1hFfD8sBGMzOqTAmeI4VKlFBArYOSD8uNVwE_Qiq8d2Nvmjm-emBzEp9eJ4lW_hO-Lo0rtlLuxwS_NOuZUBqTmPkvw2BPoK1vJQvWFiy-DWPKO3NG/s320/IMG_2020.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course I like the card, but I love the photo of it in my front flower bed among the purple Salvia that is blooming, isn't it precious.<br />
Anyhow on to the card, I used an "oldie" but "goodie" embossing folder from Darice which I have had for several years, can't remember what it is called, but I know I still see it in Michaels EF section.<br />
The sympathy sentiment is from Stampin' Up (SU) called "Heartfelt Sympathy" and is perfect as it is a good size and covers a lot of the front of the card just under the embossed tree limbs. I thought the card was looking a little plain so I added a strip of SU gold paper along the side. (which coordinates with the interior), here's a look...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYD8nv4_y8wM1of9cLQYhwqDpvtbYg4cjCqx0HGmNWiTfAvkd9NMfd0SumJz2iTnmRBCpyYBTmz1hnogZO_kFb77Jnit0bLAoIkVm6GnKEbj3WuqshJpWxHStgd63DiwW-H3cmCHqwDiBs/s1600/IMG_2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYD8nv4_y8wM1of9cLQYhwqDpvtbYg4cjCqx0HGmNWiTfAvkd9NMfd0SumJz2iTnmRBCpyYBTmz1hnogZO_kFb77Jnit0bLAoIkVm6GnKEbj3WuqshJpWxHStgd63DiwW-H3cmCHqwDiBs/s320/IMG_2014.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink (PTI) called "With Sympathy". It has five very nice and appropriate sentiments for this sad time as well as a beautiful scroll that I hope to use soon.<br />
<br />
Since the saying talks about stars I decided to add a crescent of stars above the saying. Of course I had to stamp them in gold ink to match the strip on the outside of the card. The stars are from PTI'S new "Simple Impressions, Celebrations" stamp set and added a bit of elegance.<br />
<br />
I also made another card using PTI's "Linen" CS in a cream color, but you know the saying "Less is more", Leave it Alone"? Well I didn't listen to myself and thought a few cute little birds in the tree would look nice. NOT SO, now I have to try and figure out some way to cover the little gold birds I had to add. Always listen to yourself!<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking Di, see ya soon!<br />
Hugs,<br />

Here is a very simple card using the "Lovely Laurels" stamp set from Papertrey Ink (PTI).<br />
It is a set I've had for quite a long time, but never used. The set also came with a ribbon garland of the wreath, lots of glittery sequins and some pink twine. Don't know why I haven't used it, but decided to now although I did not use all the extras as you can see.<br />
<br />
I neeeded a thank you card and wanted something CAS with space inside for writing a personal note.<br />
Love the little bird that I covered entirely with "wink of stella" for some shimmer!<br />
Here's the card..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is another card from PTI's "Transformation Tuesday" project by Michelle Leone. This card was one she made a while back and decided to redo it. I did like her redo, but liked her original version better which is what I copied. One of her tips is to use straws for the candles, which I thought was a great idea, but I used white cs that I had stamped using Stampin' Up's "Diagonal Stripe" stamp set.<br />
Next time I will try using cut-down straws. Don't know if you can tell or not but the "flames" are die cute from white glittery paper.<br />

<br />
This next card is for a woman's birthday, I really like the scalloped edge and the beautiful flowers. The flowers are a multi-step stamp from PTI's "Gran's Garden" designed by Dawn McVey.<br />

The large "Just for You" die is also from PTI.<br />

This card was for my one brother's 85th birthday. The motor cycle was colored purple because that's the color of his "trike" he still rides at 85 years young! Woo hoo!! <br />

Hi there,<br />
Yup really, 7 months since a posting and now two in one day!<br />
<br />
Here is a card I made for a young couple who will be getting married this coming weekend in Grand Rapids, MI. Their wedding invitation was hand made by the bride-to-be, using paper doilies so I thought I would create a similar theme that she would appreciate. I die cut the scalloped circle and heat embossed with silver EP as well as the sentiment, this was then popped up onto a paper doily (I was so wishing I had silver doilies, but...) added a strip of silver glitzy paper then adhered it to an embossed panel and that's it.<br />
<br />
Here tis...<br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Supplies from PTI and Stampin' Up</i></span>Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08139764416690432023noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8944587959196492317.post-72451491690363628062017-06-27T09:03:00.000-07:002017-06-27T09:03:08.491-07:00FINALLY A POST!Here it is almost 7 months since my last posting....I needed a birthday card for a special friend and this is what I came up with (after viewing the many different versions of this stamp/die set on Pinterest).<br />
<br />
I'm not even sure if it's a "special" birthday for my friend, but in case I thought I'd make it special looking with all the gold paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTPnUyZCr2eHuucbAOTOUBZ1gGZMVYbt8dHCdbnT2rFoImzKCWyvHyN0d-_Q3gF0vzqiMVluVW0-EXfdNPanqGM3Ph16jfjB5Fb-eoeGO-bDMpSe3cU4dICS8sCX8vxdGomIAadWtwArik/s1600/IMG_0576.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1243" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTPnUyZCr2eHuucbAOTOUBZ1gGZMVYbt8dHCdbnT2rFoImzKCWyvHyN0d-_Q3gF0vzqiMVluVW0-EXfdNPanqGM3Ph16jfjB5Fb-eoeGO-bDMpSe3cU4dICS8sCX8vxdGomIAadWtwArik/s320/IMG_0576.JPG" width="248" /></a></div>
<br />
Can you notice the shadow wording? That happened as an accident! I had stamped the sentiment once in gold ink and then again (moving it just a smidge) in black. I love how it turned out, what do you think?<br />
<br />
Here's a picture of the first version, which I actually preferred, but couldn't quite duplicate it, but I'm still happy with the outcome.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsbQ_1Ssl29K0SfvJeNCVe2jyXEM41mi5V4LpAXWiz5wbEX1UOnHrNJV7SqtMs_vWNNg7FdEnQ_1laTl4nbKiUdcoA0dVWBghEoD6RdQHwpduyR0NYRoyQ27sLJoS9aduolbeUvkR_pq-o/s1600/IMG_0577.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsbQ_1Ssl29K0SfvJeNCVe2jyXEM41mi5V4LpAXWiz5wbEX1UOnHrNJV7SqtMs_vWNNg7FdEnQ_1laTl4nbKiUdcoA0dVWBghEoD6RdQHwpduyR0NYRoyQ27sLJoS9aduolbeUvkR_pq-o/s320/IMG_0577.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I though it was kinda cool.<br />
<br />
That's it for now.<br />

<i>All supplies used were from Stampin' Up</i>Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08139764416690432023noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8944587959196492317.post-20731156971218730252017-01-19T08:32:00.004-08:002017-01-19T08:32:49.525-08:00THANK YOU CARDHi there,<br />
Another quick and clean card<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1adDFuVlOBX19gcjbo34V-PFH0wMUf4_O-TavYvtb-vzUP210HJu_BkteuwHtGB51n54zliQRj_Knmh3fylmN9yVfFPuMKsSFutD-iYr8psPCn3CpCvXCZIYoXqH4c36bKb64IUQGawQ0/s1600/IMG_3287.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1adDFuVlOBX19gcjbo34V-PFH0wMUf4_O-TavYvtb-vzUP210HJu_BkteuwHtGB51n54zliQRj_Knmh3fylmN9yVfFPuMKsSFutD-iYr8psPCn3CpCvXCZIYoXqH4c36bKb64IUQGawQ0/s320/IMG_3287.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I love this clean and simple look. The stitched rectangle dies were a gift from my talented and creative daughter, Nance Leedy of Canopy Crafts.<br />
I found the image sitting in a basket on my desk and decided to use it, so I cut it down to size and matted it on a "similar" color to the words in the image, then adhered it to a slightly larger stitched rectangle and that's it. I kept the inside plain as I wanted to write a personal note.<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking and hopefully leaving a comment.<br />
<br />
PS.<br />
<em><span style="font-size: x-small;">The image is a stamp and die from Papertrey Ink called Splits</span></em><br />
<br />Nancyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08139764416690432023noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8944587959196492317.post-50234806413456944362017-01-18T13:37:00.002-08:002017-01-18T13:40:04.225-08:00Flamingo Thank you<br />
Here's a cute little card I needed as a Thank you. A fairly quick and easy card.<br />
<br />
I die cut the flamingo from a piece of card stock where I wanted it to be then die cut it again from a separate piece of white card stock. I then placed the image back into the die space, using my trusty Misti I was able to line it up perfectly and stamp it (look how perfectly the eye and beak came out). <br />
<br />
The legs were a separate die and stamp and I just realized I had used a pink card stock when I stamp it. The effect I wanted was the stamped bird, but still the cut shape visible on the front of the card.<br />
I added the simple plants along with pools of water for the standing bird. The sentiment is a very old retired one that I was able to curve as if the bird was saying it. A little bit of pink embroidery floss to the bottom of the card before I adhered it to an A-5 card.<br />
<br />
That's it for now.<br />

<br />
Anyhow here are three cards I made recently, this first one you should recognize with the clear window looking into the card, as the one I sent to John for his birthday. Hope he got it in time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKvESEkklBorsDsjsxJN1KAHFVcBhTBYrtfG8jhv0n5jEbPnu_skLLyBLx14zVrkT_W1MOAwQof0hOQSARhtlVtRg0ffyvhQ0T8qhBf6y6bYvB9fyW_qudBjAHdt7iT8NQmJ8zefmn49xY/s1600/IMG_3277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKvESEkklBorsDsjsxJN1KAHFVcBhTBYrtfG8jhv0n5jEbPnu_skLLyBLx14zVrkT_W1MOAwQof0hOQSARhtlVtRg0ffyvhQ0T8qhBf6y6bYvB9fyW_qudBjAHdt7iT8NQmJ8zefmn49xY/s320/IMG_3277.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
It is a card I copied from someone on Pinterest can't remember her blog name though. She had a nice tutorial explaining the dimensions of all pieces for the card, which made it pretty simple to follow along.<br />
Here's a shot of the inside before I added the birthday verse...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg24qS8O5OKsRPewRevU127uxEVGW5xj_QU0NsunYqYcgyJ4wsQ9CMHSRyY9_whWt-ewCSFLU0flzebaPggDFcsHQvbDUax_wT8MiVK2qOUpiPv3fvUEnJdt_TBXR2wFFT6rEk3w9I9Fh6V/s1600/IMG_3278.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg24qS8O5OKsRPewRevU127uxEVGW5xj_QU0NsunYqYcgyJ4wsQ9CMHSRyY9_whWt-ewCSFLU0flzebaPggDFcsHQvbDUax_wT8MiVK2qOUpiPv3fvUEnJdt_TBXR2wFFT6rEk3w9I9Fh6V/s320/IMG_3278.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the second one I made the same day...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSzFJphGptlOoXxKHoEyxGCu8JDeO9LDBNOQk3-JgelLgDya3W9BAJbI5ko35qEO9jH3uuN62l-2yduP5LIbKeqhziPGW47w8n1MTftyULD4oi4Q1ZykJD-Bqgizkws8ztMXU-Vr3Tqaga/s1600/IMG_3276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSzFJphGptlOoXxKHoEyxGCu8JDeO9LDBNOQk3-JgelLgDya3W9BAJbI5ko35qEO9jH3uuN62l-2yduP5LIbKeqhziPGW47w8n1MTftyULD4oi4Q1ZykJD-Bqgizkws8ztMXU-Vr3Tqaga/s320/IMG_3276.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
And another...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEv-KwVVodRAYOZUltfJYL4dQRwdtHqFGIXCu0-KDmw5Bas7yGc1ykd8JLHckrslpWgUFls_HZfuyKJyih29_06YTQ9I2_jERLGifk9I70wjIE9dqh2FsOtUXHWEflJPHKrRpMI7kvCwou/s1600/IMG_3275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEv-KwVVodRAYOZUltfJYL4dQRwdtHqFGIXCu0-KDmw5Bas7yGc1ykd8JLHckrslpWgUFls_HZfuyKJyih29_06YTQ9I2_jERLGifk9I70wjIE9dqh2FsOtUXHWEflJPHKrRpMI7kvCwou/s320/IMG_3275.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see I made 2 of each design and later made several more of the Wetlands goose set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I had to go back to the original site and re-read the directions on how the sample card was made. Now that I understand it, I can't believe how easy and beautifully it stamps.<br />
<br />
The overall bouquet is an outline stamp, then you can stamp the solid images in a variety of colors or watercolor if that's what you want to do. The way the leaves and flowers line up using my Misti is perfect. I have always struggled with stamping onto "line" images or unto die cut pieces, not getting them to line up well, but using the Misti all the guess work is taken away.<br />
<br />
So here's the card I made...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The month of January has several birthdays that I would like to acknowledge so here are two of my cards.<br />
I first dry embossed a piece of cherry cobbler cs and rounded the corners. Next I die cut a scallop tag and embossed it with a musical note. Then stamped the musical treble clef onto vellum paper, I heat embossed the clef with black embossing powder to give it some attention and then fussy cut it. The little heart at the bottom was stamped in red and smeared with clear "Wink of Stella" for some glitter. The sentiment was added to a strip of cs and gently placed over the center of the clef to hide the foam tape. A silver thread was added with a glue dot to the hole at the top of the tag.<br />
I really like the way this turned out, what do you think?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHDp_y1qaxj2nVaYS8ZAO5rPR6I7NlJyttAOAILIkXtu5-f77nppMsr3AD7kxnRQRd5td3eOH3s917meSQOnxg63ufxa26HCHv04qbQYVrppABCohdIa5PU8iCmxTPy9v4Pkdhx-k1qupq/s1600/IMG_3248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHDp_y1qaxj2nVaYS8ZAO5rPR6I7NlJyttAOAILIkXtu5-f77nppMsr3AD7kxnRQRd5td3eOH3s917meSQOnxg63ufxa26HCHv04qbQYVrppABCohdIa5PU8iCmxTPy9v4Pkdhx-k1qupq/s320/IMG_3248.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The second card today is fairly simple and cased from Betsy Feldman of PTI. I'm always amazed at the creativity of the designers, how do they think up all the details for the dies and stamps, I'm definitely impressed.<br />
<br />
The die comes in two pieces one is a shadow (completely filled in) and the second is a detailed die. Per instructions I ran the shadow die first in black cs, then ran it through a second time using the detailed die on top of it. This allows you to offset the detail piece over the shadow piece. I'm sure this sounds very confusing, but it really is quite simple once you understand the dynamics of how the die works. It does all the work for you.<br />
In order to get the multi-colored word, I water-colored another shadow die and used that behind the first two dies.<br />
The top of the card was stamped with banners, stars and curly q's. This is probably going to be sent to a male friend since there's not much embellishment on it.<br />
<br />
I love the way the word "celebrate" turned out, so much so, that I made a few more to have on hand.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

Today is a very special day for my one and only Grand daughter, who turned 13, oh my gosh, how did all those years fly by so quickly.<br />
<br />
I created a special "gift" card just for her...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP96BTAbfffnsq0K-24T_1OTOSd-rcK09MHZ51osl5ON7R0YVRLmZuFR0lQJCER8a7Dvw_owb0FgR-SQg0ZGJNVf_kw2runia8-c_UDXxbSNN54BVn7X_m4buyEgKNuy7GZH2vWRH38-z4/s1600/IMG_3116.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP96BTAbfffnsq0K-24T_1OTOSd-rcK09MHZ51osl5ON7R0YVRLmZuFR0lQJCER8a7Dvw_owb0FgR-SQg0ZGJNVf_kw2runia8-c_UDXxbSNN54BVn7X_m4buyEgKNuy7GZH2vWRH38-z4/s320/IMG_3116.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Isn't it cute, it actually opens like a gift (with a little Velcro dot) The panel was created using pattern celebration streamers designer paper, which was cut with one of the dies from a die named All Wrapped Up, then used the other part of the die for the ribbon, in pink of course! Added a cute little tag.<br />
<br />
Inside I created a pocket for a coveted "real" gift card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGD61cuIy106i-XPP0MjrAc2PB7oiWmnIMYapEYsonN4gpZ9CIQhigAadolVNHyih1rahNYOQM2Mc5iMyhL6e4U0z-i8EeVhGA-EMGSrt4NUXEEqQJ3xJCtIWqjSCfKe7eazSCxeJTzdVL/s1600/IMG_3118.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGD61cuIy106i-XPP0MjrAc2PB7oiWmnIMYapEYsonN4gpZ9CIQhigAadolVNHyih1rahNYOQM2Mc5iMyhL6e4U0z-i8EeVhGA-EMGSrt4NUXEEqQJ3xJCtIWqjSCfKe7eazSCxeJTzdVL/s320/IMG_3118.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The inside of the card is...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8SgeKjpqUyKb3CSqFc3wPulyKIAxTDtrZCiwgRjIF8Zx_ZQJn4b49q8lnaO_VYoxxqrNDDdDEDZ8eNC_fdHy8mj6ctnJO7tHKTBymknCO7WNorv-DUmsTrgmi7Sq-GxDSxcWTeE3e-dHs/s1600/IMG_3117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8SgeKjpqUyKb3CSqFc3wPulyKIAxTDtrZCiwgRjIF8Zx_ZQJn4b49q8lnaO_VYoxxqrNDDdDEDZ8eNC_fdHy8mj6ctnJO7tHKTBymknCO7WNorv-DUmsTrgmi7Sq-GxDSxcWTeE3e-dHs/s320/IMG_3117.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the matching streamer stamp set across the top of the card in different colors with a happy birthday sentiment, die cut numbers and edged the paper with strips of the same color pink.<br />
<br />
What do you think?<br />
<br />
Thanks for leaving a comment, I appreciate hearing from you.<br />

<br />
The bags you'll recognize from Stampin' Up...I heat embossed the sentiments using the wonderful new copper embossing powder, it's so elegant looking, punched a double slot hole in the folded down top of the bag and tied it with some glitzy green yarn after placing a few of a peanut, white chocolate and pretzel mixture that my daughter, Nance Leedy, and I seem to make each Christmas.<br />
<br />
Here they sit waiting to be taken home...<br />

That's it for stampin' today, but thought I'd also show you a picture of my mantle decorated for the holidays. I made the ornament swag last year and I still love it also added a few other items.<br />

<br />
The background was made using the same color ink as the CS with a stencil. The center pink strip was dry embossed using a "Happy Birthday" folder, although it's not visible in this photo. I also used a SU silver doily, cut in half to peek out from either side of the large circle which had been stamped using SU's Number of Years stamp set and number dies. I die cut the numbers twice using the pink color slightly off center from the silver paper.<br />

I was going through some of my paper that I haven't used in a while and wondered why I'm keeping so much, usually it's cause I just love the design of the paper and can't stand the thought of parting with it.<br />
<br />
Well I found this retired Halloween DSP from a year or two back and thought I' use it for a card for my granddaughter. This paper is so darn cute of course didn't want to cut it up, so instead I used it for the entire inside of the card kinda like a nice surprise when you open it.<br />
<br />
Here's the front of the card...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used a printed pattern paper for the background, then stamped a few branches from a new stamp set as well as die cut a few of the pine cones and berries.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnog1H8ozI2HZfF1peWYJdmORgdFGbx_NuZuOnXm5ITGsymPkzvfEPr4ULNLRi2n_t5KSNuJFKpaf5T4v-9Nx_aOE9FrsIpNcQcRmaP1ChFHPF7sZBtTP116Y88K6GaHoGVk0eyQ1roXXu/s1600/IMG_2860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnog1H8ozI2HZfF1peWYJdmORgdFGbx_NuZuOnXm5ITGsymPkzvfEPr4ULNLRi2n_t5KSNuJFKpaf5T4v-9Nx_aOE9FrsIpNcQcRmaP1ChFHPF7sZBtTP116Y88K6GaHoGVk0eyQ1roXXu/s400/IMG_2860.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the second card...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI4NoIrmKjheWHUKowZlAUgdqHAy9_Iz1LgECyNyz8GWcAwIBhqNKpyWA99MCChme3Fo4CBeOX1q3nbHCItWrvU2f2rEvkPlaOl7x4_g09RNGvtZqOT3pyP-IGtlNCZqg_MSU3yLiruTYT/s1600/IMG_2861.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI4NoIrmKjheWHUKowZlAUgdqHAy9_Iz1LgECyNyz8GWcAwIBhqNKpyWA99MCChme3Fo4CBeOX1q3nbHCItWrvU2f2rEvkPlaOl7x4_g09RNGvtZqOT3pyP-IGtlNCZqg_MSU3yLiruTYT/s400/IMG_2861.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This gift box stamp set is a two-step stamp, very easy to line up and gives you the option of using two colors. Again, I used a pattern background paper, I also stamped a line burst in gold behind the packages and again gold for the heat embossed sentiment to die it together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Thanks for stopping by today<br />

I have a never-ending supply of Starbucks glass bottles and always looking for a way to recycle them so I came up with this idea.<br />
I adhered chalkboard labels on three of them, hot glued them together, wrapped some heavy cording around the necks and tied it in a little bow. I thought they turned out quite nice, plus I have seen a similar version at a couple of vendor marts which were pretty much the same thing for any where from $5-$8 each (plus I got to enjoy the Starbucks too).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKlj4cwQuHZTN_L_Q9RbebUjSdiu39Q8wYzuqmL5j1i3fCqWHeKl68Q7oj8Mf3NXqX0py1XgrFWoXcQgGNV4brLZMH5xwZRSOOFtj1xAWQhg53BBuhmrkxj9iri6vaF-uaFDfROzJ1TQI6/s1600/IMG_2786.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKlj4cwQuHZTN_L_Q9RbebUjSdiu39Q8wYzuqmL5j1i3fCqWHeKl68Q7oj8Mf3NXqX0py1XgrFWoXcQgGNV4brLZMH5xwZRSOOFtj1xAWQhg53BBuhmrkxj9iri6vaF-uaFDfROzJ1TQI6/s320/IMG_2786.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, enough of that, here is a card I made for a fellow golfer who hasn't been able to golf with our group this season, due to a serious illness of her daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a good diagnosis in the next couple of months. In the meantime we wanted her to know we think and miss her every week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8cRPgQuu-tbgcCmDZbRKjQbVndxzVqT5lOHIbijDiWc6gYL1VGd-iXKv5wvCSw6l-IZaA_ikiDF2csIOQrvuOGktXlbdXypqzax2vNLRDCxzAEYV1Da2KY9ILMPcPhrXvWrngGwNFDu_R/s1600/IMG_2787.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8cRPgQuu-tbgcCmDZbRKjQbVndxzVqT5lOHIbijDiWc6gYL1VGd-iXKv5wvCSw6l-IZaA_ikiDF2csIOQrvuOGktXlbdXypqzax2vNLRDCxzAEYV1Da2KY9ILMPcPhrXvWrngGwNFDu_R/s320/IMG_2787.JPG" width="237" /></a></div>
Here's a peek at our sentiment inside, of course we will each write a little note of encouragement for her.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear from you.<br />

I'll be heading south again in about one month's time so I'll get to see her then, of course along with my daughter and son-in-law, and fur grand-baby!<br />
<br />
I received this cute little bear holding a heart from Ellen Hutson stamp company, there was also a little packet of ribbon in a clear pack, what a nice thank you for placing my order, love little gifts don't you?<br />
Anyhow I couldn't toss it, so I just fussy cut it and added it to my "tree" embossed card front.<br />

I also used a PTI stamp called Sand Swatch which I think is just right to look like the beach. This is the result, I think I'm really likin' it.<br />
I used a couple of strips of a SU designer paper and tip top taupe ink along with PTI's Melon Mambo ink. I die cut the shell shapes first and temporarily stuck them to my Misti so that I could get the two-step stamping in the same spot. The Misti is the perfect tool for this.<br />
The sentiment is from a older embossing folder from my stash. The "sand" die pieces were stamped onto kraft color cardstock and embossed with clear powder, I like how it makes the pieces really look like sand at the beach.<br />
<br />
Anyhow here's the card...<br />
