Funky Paper Players (PP39)

I love this card I made for Paper Players "Clean & Simple" sketch. However because I wanted to use this paper I had to change the size of the sketch somewhat so it may not qualify. The paper is an oldie but goodie I just love those little birdies & apparently so does SU since the brown bird is the one they used on one of the tote bags from last year (which I happen to have thanks to my daughter ).

My hoard of scrappin' stash here is limited especially paper so I found this adorable paper tucked away. As you can see it is a simple card with chocolate chip and baja breeze matting the DSP (which I can't remember the name of, I'm sure all you gals will). I clipped the corners with the ticket punch and tied some (not quite matching but all I had) Bakers twine around the DSP and added a little tassel instead of a bow, just for a change of pace.

Guess I'm going to have to place an order with my daughter Nance at Canopy Crafts for some matching ribbons!

Oops, almost forgot here's a peek at the inside.

Thanks for looking.

Wonderfully Wicked Wednesday Challenge #2

Utah Divas International challenge for the month of March is the wickedly spooky colors of green, purple, black and a neutral. Although this picture makes one think of Halloween or the musical, I chose to go a different route. I hope you like it.

My card base is SU whisper White with the tulip embossed edge and a piece of green polka dot paper from SU's Designer Series Paper Patterns Pack. The image stamped in green with purple flowers is from "Of The Earth" stamped again on WW. The square scallop shape for both the purple mat and the image is from Spellbinders. The Happy birthday sentiment is stamped in Black ink from the "Happy Moments" stamp set. The purple paper ribbon treatment is from PTI (double-ended banner) with a strip of purple glitter from Stampendous (although it's difficult to see the glitter in the photograph). The butterflies are die cut from glitzy silver paper using SU's Embosslit-Beautiful Wings. The little tag peeking out with the HB sentiment is from PTI-Tea for Two die.
That just about covers everything, I do hope you leave a comment on my blog I'd love to hear your thoughts on my card.

PAPER PLAYERS # 38

Here is my card for this beautiful color combination from the Paper Players Challenge.

My card base is SU's Very Vanilla card stock with a smaller mat of Early Espresso, an added strip of Blushing Bride from the SU Designer Series Paper Patterns Pack for the basics. The peeking out piece of Baja Breeze was cut using the Top Note die. I then stamped my sentiment on the Baja Breeze and punched an opening in the Blushing Bride pattern paper so the sentiment would show. The beautiful flower is created using PTI's Beautiful Blooms #2 die in shades of Baja Breeze and Early Espresso Felt alternating the colors. (Although that's not what PTI calls the colors, but I think they're close enough so that's what I'm calling them). I thought the card looked a little too plain and simple so I added a few pearls to dress it up. You know pearls always add beauty.
Hope you enjoy this card, I love the colors.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you let me know what you think of it.
