MASCULINE CARD (I think)

Hi there just a quick post of this very simple card.  I find it very difficult to make cards for men, so this was what I came up with.  As you may have noticed I've been rooting around in my paper stash and decided whether the paper is retired from Stampin' Up or not, I'm trying to use some of it, because I originally bought it cause I liked it, so why not use it!

Anyhow here it is, I added the sentiment in red so that it would stand out from all the other black images.

Heres a peek at the inside.  I used a combination of two different sentiment stamps both from Papertrey Ink.  The sentiment fits the person I have in mind for this card.

Thanks for looking, I'd love to hear from you.
Take care,
Nancy

CARDS, CARDS, CARDS, Love 'em!

Unfortunately I am in need of a few sympathy cards, which I like to keep the design CAS with a nice sentiment.

Going through my hoards of papers I found this oldie, but goodie, Urban Oasis from Stampin' Up's retired DSP collection.  The colors are Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, basic black and kraft.  When the paper is this lovely it's nice to let it stand alone, don't you think?
The inside sentiment is also from Stampin' Up, Heartfelt Sympathy which has some very nice sentiments, fonts and a few embellies.

Here is a peek at that lovely sentiment I mentioned.

Decided I better make another sympathy card while I had all my supplies on hand.  As you can see, I added a strip of the coordinating paper along the side for a little interest.

Thanks for stoppin' by, hope you'll take time to leave a comment.

MORE SPRING BIRTHDAYS

I was thinking about all the upcoming birthdays for our family and friends and decided to get a start on some of the cards I'll need.  Of course Spring always makes me think flowers, so...

I wanted to use my new favorite color gray.  This is Basic Gray from Stampin' Up's (SU) collections.  Also the flowers (Bold Blossoms from Papertrey Ink) and stitched rectangle are from the SU Summer Starfruit.  At first I wasn't sure about this color, but it has become one of my many favorites.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Birthday Everyone.

Here's a little peek at the inside too.

Hope you take the time to leave a comment, love reading them.

STAR SPRINKLED BIRTHDAY

Here's a CAS little card...I used a Papertrey In cover die which has the perforated balloon strings and a smattering of stars and little circles.

After die cutting onto white CS I added a piece of silver glitter CS behind to bring out the stars.  I used my Stampin' Up balloon punch on the three balloons also used SU's Balloon Celebration stamp set to add some interest to them.

Here's a better view of the sparkly little stars.

The balloons were punched from some paint sample chips from Lowes that I picked up on one of my frequent trips there.  I thought they would look nice on Papertrey Ink's Royal Velvet CS (love that color and it really looks Royal) and used SU's Perfect Plum Ink for the sentiment inside and out.

That's it for now, hope you leave a comment as I love reading them.
Hugs,
Nancy

SPRING TIME!

Yes, it is Spring time here in Florida and all the trees and flowers are starting to bud, can't wait for the beautiful display they share.

However in the meantime I have again, used one of my favorite stamps (seems like I say that often).  It is called Tulip Time from Papertrey Ink.  In addition to the stamps there are corresponding dies that just make the flowers pop right off the card front.  I chose this set for two of my good friends in MI who have April birthdays and I'm hoping these lovely flowers will help them usher Spring into the MI area!

Stamping the tulips is a 3-step process so I decided to make a few while I was stamping and using my MISTI, a Christmas gift from my daughter, made quick work of the process.  I added a 1 1 to 1 1/2" strip of Stampin' Up's "Winter Wonderland" specialty paper to the edges of the card front to add a little more pizzaz. Tied a gold bow onto the stems and popped up the bouquet of flowers.

What do you think...

This card is laying flat on the table so it appears as if the black/gold paper is shorter than the white.
What it is, is I cut the card front 1" narrower than the back and the black/gold paper is attached to the back of the inside of the card, so you see it from the front of the card.
Trust me both front and back are the same height, it's just the angle.

This one is the same obviously, just placed the strip of DSP on the opposite side, love the look.

I hope you'll leave me a comment, have a fabulous day!

BRIDAL SHOWER AND BIRTHDAY'S

Hi there, hope you're having a fabulous day today, I know I am here in Florida.

Here are a couple of cards.  The Bridal Shower card was cased from Leigh Penner of  "To The Full" leighpenner.blogspot.com, thanks Leigh for a delightful shower card very creative.
I loved her idea of the hearts on dotted lines as if it's raining "love". The adorable umbrella was cut by my daughter on her Silhouette, so cute isn't it?

These two birthday cards were fun to make.  The yummy looking cake stamp and die is from Papertrey Ink.  Didn't get my blueberries quite lined up, but think they still look adorable.
I tied a length of white twine around the lower portion of the card and tied with a bow before adhering the scallop gingham paper at the top.

The other birthday card which I made from a paint color sample from Home Depot, has been sitting on my desk for quite a while and I finally decided to do something with it.
I combined it with Papertrey Ink's "Ombre Stripes" pattern paper.  Isn't it funny how the paint chip lined up with the DSP lines, well most of them anyhow.  Topped it off with a circle of gold and a HB sentiment. Should have thought to add some paper piercing to the bottom of the chevron cut before gluing it down, next time!

Thanks for peeking at my blog.

Remember this

Well apparently I put it away and forgot about it so yesterday I decided to make this card. Once again it was such a CAS card as
the foil paper was already cut out and the circle already stamped.  It was just a matter of adhering the foil cut out to a card base and stamping the word "Happy" in a few areas, adding the twine to the back of the circle and popping it up with some dimensionals, done!

The gold foil paper is so shiny it was difficult to photograph without getting my reflection on the card.  I used the black/white twine that came with it, but wasn't too happy with it guess it needed to be ironed or something after being on a roll for quite a while!

Here's another picture showing how shiny the foil is.

Would love to hear from you, why don't you leave a comment.

Finally getting to try out some of my (too) many new stamp sets.  This one is called "Ombre Sentiments", the background paper is a pattern paper also called "Ombre Strips".  Well I thought, what better two to put together.

I really like the sentiment stamp how it appears to be stamped lighter at the top and then gradually darker, the same with the paper.  After stamping the sentiment I thought it could use a little sumpin' more, so what better to celebrate with than balloons and a few little confetti dots here and there.

Love the paper which certainly makes for a quick and simple card.

I carried the theme over to the inside as well.

Still very clean and simple, but festive I think.

Would love to hear from you, please leave a comment.

FESTIVE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Hi everyone, thought I'd share yet another birthday card using one of Papertrey Ink's newer stamp sets "Fancy Pants Sentiments" and their Black and White All Over patterned paper.

I love the paper all you have to is color in the balloons, or not, a swirl of Stampin' Up's Gold Thread and a sentiment die cut and adhered to the paper, all done?

Here it is, what do you think?

Oops didn't get to take a photo of the inside.

Thanks for looking, hope you take the time to leave a comment.

GRADUATION CARD

Yep, I bet you're thinking wow she already has a jump on getting "Grad" cards done, right?
Well wrong, this is in keeping with my latest trend, to be late to everything including this young man's college graduation many months ago!!!! Yep I've really been procrastinating, no more that's it.
Anyhow here is the card I made for him.  You'd think with all the time I had I might have done something more intricate, but no I went for CAS.

A very simple masculine card, what do you think.

Here's a peek at the inside too.

I really like this new stamp set called "BE" from Papertrey Ink, I thought it was the perfect sentiment for a newly graduated young man.  I hope he'll be all of these things.

Thanks for checking out my blog, would love to hear from you.
Hugs,
Nancy
