A few weeks ago, during the early morning hours one of the smoke alarms in my home malfunctioned. Since the ceilings in the house are quite high (cathedral style) there was no way I would ever be able to reach this cranky, noisy alarm. I lived with it for two days, trying unsuccessfully to find someone who could take care of it for me. My daughter of Canopy Crafts, thought she remembered from somewhere the local Fire Department would come out to change batteries in smoke alarms. She called them for me and low and behold they were at my house before I could even get back there! Who knew they provided this service.
They not only changed and quieted the noisy alarm, but provided the battery and went on throughout the house to check all the other alarms. They also said to contact them twice a year, when daylight savings occurs, to change the batteries. Who knew! Of course this would be scheduled when they were not busy.
So for their help I thought I'd take some cookies over to the fire station for them to enjoy.
Here's a picture of my favorite cookies, once again the Cran-Pistachio and now the Salted Caramel Sugar cookies.
It's hard to read, but the little sign says "Thank You, for all you do".
I hope they enjoy.
Thanks for looking at my blog.

Masculine Birthday card
I can't believe how long it's been since I posted to my blog, time flies by...
anyhow here is a card made for my brother.
I used Stampin' Up's new DSP Adventure Bound, there are some lovely patterns and nature scenes in this group, I'm really liking them.
The card didn't take much work, since the paper is so pretty I didn't want to detract from it so added a little birthday sentiment and a non-fussy little bow and called it done.
Oops, little red ink smudge on the bottom of the inside of the card, well now he'll know it's hand-made!
I'd love to hear what you think of this card, please leave me a brief comment at the end of the post.
Thanks,
Nancy
