OOPS!

Do you ever make a card and think okay that's done and then forget to mail it?  Tell me I'm not the only one who does this.
Here is the card I'm sending waaaaaay late for a special person's past birthday.

Plus I forgot to take a picture of the inside...all you Stampin' Up people must know the inside  said
"And then I forgot
Happy (belated) Birthday"

Once again I used the in color CS and DSP, die cut a small oval for the sentient as well as die cut a few leaves, wrapped some cording around the spine of the card and done!

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear from you!

Here's a challenge at Paper Players for a Fall  inspired card.

I see most everyone thought of beautifully colored leaves, traditional things one would think of.  However, I think of Halloween so here is my take on the challenge.

I love the funny shaped witch from SU's  Freaky Friends stamp set  so I thought she'd be perfect to welcome Fall. You may be able to tell from the photo I glitter gold embossed the wreath from Wondrous Wreath and used that as my focal point but wanted to combine Halloween too, so I fussy cut (no small task especially her shoes) the witch, added glitter gold to her broom since she's sweeping the golden leaves. Did you get that glitter embossing?  The background paper is from the  DSP Motley Monsters such adorable images I really hated to cut it up.

Here's a photo of the inside as well...
The inside sentiment is also SU's Mingle All the Way set, very versatile with a sentiment for many holidays.
What do you think, I'd love to hear from you...thanks for lookin'

'Nuther birthday card!

The Paper Players are hosting a "Fall" theme card this week and I think this will fit in nicely, doesn't often happen for me!

Here's a card for a very dear friend and another "almost" relative, I feel like she really is.  She knows who she is.

Since the calendar is indicating Fall is almost here I thought using the new in-colors and DSP were a perfect choice and how could you not love the "martini" birthday glass from one of the new holiday stamp sets, "Making Spirits Bright", right up our alleys!

The inspiration for the layout came from a card my daughter, Nance Leedy of Canopy  Crafts used for one of her card classes . While I was visiting I too was able to CASE her card, isn't it lovely,
here it is...

I'd love you to leave a comment, it's always nice to hear from other bloggers,
Cheers,
Nancy

Brother birthday!

Hi all, just a quick post to show a card I made for my older brother who lives in AL.
This stamp set was one we were given at Convention, isn't it cute?

As I said previously I am without most of my supplies, very limited.  So I opted to stamp the cute rocking chair onto a cork oval, framed with DSP and then again on whisper white.  Adhered all to a strip of DSP (which I attempted to line up with the backdrop piece).  I thought it looked like the chair was kinda sitting on a rug, what do ya think?

Of course I didn't have a sentiment stamp that said brother, at least with me, so I created one on the computer, flagged the end, tied it with some twine and added to the face of the card.

That's it for now, hope to see you again thanks for looking
