PAPER PLAYERS CHALLENGE

Gorgeous color choices for The Paper Players Challenge, Lost Lagoon, Crisp Cantaloupe and Sahara Sand.  Don't you wonder who makes up the color names, I bet it's a fun job.

Anyhow here is the card I decided to make, I love the butterfly die and thought it would make a great focal image for the card.
I first stamped the image in Sahara Sand onto CS of  the same color, die cut two butterflies one each in Lost Lagoon and Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered them together. Added my sentiment and a few little inserts from the dies and I was done.
Makes it sound so easy, so why did it take me the better part of an entire afternoon to make the card!!!!!!

Here is a picture showing the layering of the two color butterfly.

I enjoy reading your comments, thanks for sharing.

Safe Travels

This is a card made for a friend who is travelling to Africa the end of this month.
She hopes to be able to volunteer at an elephant rescue facility for a few weeks and then meet up with friends for a safari tour.

I thought this card would suit her.

and here is the inside...

Can't wait to hear all about her trip and see some fabulous photographs.

Won't you please add a comment, many thanks,
Nancy

Thank you cards

Here are a couple of cards I made recently...
This was a clean and simply card, I really like the large sentiment, it says it all.  The inside of the card is blank with lots of room for writing a personal note.

This second card, which I really like is a total "recycle".  It's a TY card I received a while back and liked it so much I saved the front of the card to recycle.  Just can't bring myself to toss some things!

It was quick and easy...added a black cardstock mat and glued.   I should feel guilty, but I love it so much I wanted to use it and for some special people!
Here is a close up of the sparkly Eiffel Tower!

Isn't it gorgeous!
Thanks for looking and leaving a comment.
Cheers,
Nancy

Birthday card for some of the guys!

I 've been under the weather this last week (not a good way to start the New Year).  Anyhow I needed a few January birthday cards, so pulled myself together and made a couple, both for men.

As you can see this is for someone who loves to golf, I love the very tiny white cotton ball that almost made it to the hole. (story of my golf life).

Here is a second one I made for a friend back in MI who also has a January birthday.
Very quick and easy card with some gold/silver sketched star dies to coordinate with the sentiment which was heat embossed in silver (kinda hard to see in the photo.

All supplies used from PTI.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the New Year, let's hope it's a good one for each of us.
Hugs,
Nancy

SYMPATHY CARDS

My first post for the new year isn't a happy one....

The holidays are usually a very happy and festive time of the year, but sometimes it is also sad when you learn of someone passing away.  I was in need of a few sympathy cards this week so this is what I've created.

I happen to be away from my home where all of my stamps are so I had to improvise and use the computer for some of the sentiments.  In printing from the computer I thought it might be interesting to use a format I've seen many times by Maile Belles http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/ of PTI.  Most of her cards are very CAS,  often she cuts the card to include the sentiment separately, a feature I really like, so here is one of my cards using her tried and true format.

The second car (without a sentiment) I used the same image and heat embossed it after stamping with Versamark Ink.

.
Here is a picture of the inside of one of the cards.

I think this is a very serene and calming image and perfect for a sympathy card, hope you agree.
Please feel free to leave a comment.
Thanks for looking.
