Butterfly birthday

Today I have another butterfly birthday card, it does seem to be one of my go-to cards probably because you can change it up by the pattern of the DSP behind the butterfly for a quick and easy card.

This time I used one of the newer DSP for my background.  I thought all the colors reflect a butterfly's gorgeous coloring.  I adhere the DSP to the backside of the separate front panel (that has the die cut-out) then attached the die cut butterfly just in the center of its body, so the wings are free to move. As you can see I framed it in a solid color cs.  Last time I made this card, I used a different technique for the die cutting, but this is much easier and has the same end result.

Here's a close up of the wings.

And a close up of the inside sentiment.

That's it for today, thanks for looking, would love to hear from you.
P.S. wish I had some glitter for the butterfly wings, but my supplies are quite limited where I'm at.
Hugs,
Nancy

BIRTHDAY CARD

Here I am again, under the gun.  My favorite SIL (I can say that as I only have one, so no feelings hurt), will be celebrating a birthday this coming weekend, my card is in the mail, but not sure if it'll arrive in time.

Anyhow here it is, I thought very appropriate as we all like to drink wine in our family, I also left a gift at his house that ties in perfectly with this card.

I started with a panel of old olive cs and heat embossed the bubbles in clear EP on the top and bottom of the card.  It's difficult to see but there is also an oval shape behind the bottles die cut from gold paper.  The three wine bottles are stamped in old olive, blackberry bliss and so saffron inks, the corks were stamped using baked brown sugar which actually looks kinda gold color????
The "Cheers" sentiement was die cut from adhesive backed gold paper (what a treat to just press it down and not have to deal with foam tape, or other adhesives.

The inside is stamped using one of the newer stamp sets from Stampin' Up which is just perfect.

That's it for today, thanks for taking a look.
Cheers,
Nancy

YAY, I'm back!

This card is for my adorable granddaughter Arden, who celebrates a half-year birthday because her actual birthday is in December.  I wonder how many other kids celebrate their December birthdays in the middle of the year???

We will be traveling to Orlando for her National Volleyball tournaments soon so this card packs a little hard cash for her to use at one of her favorite stores in Orlando, American Girl!

The surprise is when she pulls the strip that says "open" there's the cash all folded up neatly, cute huh.  Oops took the photo before I dabbed on  Dazzlin Details in Cherry Cobbler to the cherry on top!

And here's a look at the inside...

All supplies from Stampin' Up except
the "open" sentiment and die that creates the perforated strip, both from PTI

Thanks for checking out my blog today
hugs,
Nancy
