CASE STUDY CHALLENGE #73

Thought I'd try my hand for this challenge at CASE STUDY, check out the inspirations the team has designed.













I began my card with Stampin' Up's card stock called Pool Party, such an inviting and calming color I think.
Then cut two pieces of Very Vanilla paper, die cut one of them with my tree die and stamped the tree and leaves on the second sheet, lining them up so they peek through the openings.
Added some of the new yummy pleated ribbon a sentiment and a little flower blossom to keep the nature theme rolling along with embossing the top mat with a wood grain embossing folder to complete the look.

Here's a great sketch from CCMC that I thought I'd give it a try.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up, some a little older than others, but still SU.

Don't ya just love the little masked raccoon from Love Bandit he definitely has stolen my heart.

The red glitter hearts were punched from paper from the Holiday mini catalog. I used the smallest of the hearts from the new Framelits dies (love 'em) as well as using it to trace the "missing" dotted heart. I can't remember the name of the set the dotted line is from, but it's one I like using. The card stock base is crumb cake with (I think it was last year's) Sending Love Specialty designer paper as a mat for the vanilla top layer. I think that completes the card.



















Oops I just noticed in my photo I almost cut off the bottom portion of the card showing the scallops, sorry.

Second Post of the Day - Freshly Made Sketches

Now here's my card.

It's very similar to the first card posted today, but a little more Official looking, I thought. I love the way the silhouette is outlined within the embossed frame, just like a real cameo.

Back to Black & Paper Players Challenge # 77

While surfing the various blogs I discovered City Crafter Challenge where they're having a challenge for anything back to black. Don't ya just love this inspiration photo (although you can see it really didn't apply to my card, but it did give me the inspiration to use the silhouette stamp).

I would also like to enter my card for one of my "fav" challenges" Paper "Players, their theme this week is "All you Need is Love", and I guess this card would fill the bill.

Anyhow this is the card I created using the woman's silhouette as my "back to black" and "All you Need is Love".


The background paper is an oldie but goodie from Stampin' Up, with a paper doily from the craft store and the image stamped on SU's glossy white paper. I thought this image looked perfect with the doily kinda like portraits and Valentine's cards used to be.

I also used a scallop die for the pink layer as well as a die called Photo Finishers, both from Papertrey Ink.

Second day in a row!

Hope this is a sign for the new year for me...posting more often, we'll see you know what they say about New Year's Resolutions (they hardly ever work, at least for me).


This card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made were they like Clean and Simple designs. Not sure the card I made fits this criteria as I took the liberty of rearranging the 3 focal points since it just looked better on my card.




Anyhow here it is, what do you think? I's a little out of my comfort zone using multiple paper patterns, but I'm trying...





I made it for a golf friend who has a birthday this month and she LOVES tea cups, teapots, anything to do with tea, so I thought this sketch from Freshly Made worked well for my idea. My daughter over at Canopy Crafts will laugh because she says I place everything on an angle, however she should note the bottom cup is straight!

Aren't there a lot of birthdays in January or is it just my thinking.

Sympathy card

It's been a while since I've posted and unfortunately it has to be a sympathy card for a fellow scrapper/golfer friend's Mother-in-Law who recently passed away. These times are always sad, but seem even more so when they occur during the holidays.

I opted to create a very simple card using what I thought were calming colors. The background was created by stamping onto a piece of whisper white card stock using a three-step stamp (although it doesn't have to be used as such, can be used individually). I cut off two rows of the stamping and adhered to the top and bottom of the card front leaving enough room for the sentiment and that was it. I'm happy with the end results...what do you think, would love to hear from you.
