5TH ANNIVERSARY-Day 4 challenge

Today Papertrey Ink ask the designers to post their favorite color combination along with a card. Bloggers then had the choice of picking their favorite combo's and creating a card using those colors. I like so many of the colors, but truthfully didn't have all of them in my possession so I decided to go with what I did have which happened to be Jessica Witty's color combo.

I started with kraft card stock (because I didn't have Harvest Gold & I really love kraft) and using the XL Rick rack die used it as an embossing plate (not the die side) to create two bands of the rick rack on the top and bottom of the card (difficult to see in the photo). I then die cut the three colors from Jessica's color combo with the rick rack die and adhered them to the middle section of the card front. Using two of the same colors I die cut a flower from Beautiful Blooms (I also snipped into the center of the flower between each petal to give it a little dimension. I happen to find a small silver color thingy which I thought looked perfect in the center of the flower. Since I needed a "belated birthday" card that's the sentiment I used.

Here's a close up of the reverse affect of the rick rack die. Maybe others have already been doing this, but I discovered it by mistake when I inadvertently placed my die wrong side down! I love this, I'll be trying it with other dies.

Items used: XL Rick Rack die Beautiful Blooms # 1 die Sentiment from Mat Stack #3 Collection Cardstock: kraft, Canyon Clay, dard chocolate and Aqua Mist

Thanks for looking, would love to hear from you.

Nancy what a CAS card and the colors you chose remind of the summer sun set ??? not sure why, but they do! Love how you incorporated the 'mistake' upside down die emboss method. Very cool. I especially like how you finished off the blossom with the cute little siver thingy for the center. 8-)
Hugs!!!!
