Easter crochet flower barrettes

Gosh it's been months since I've posted...but here's a recent project I made for my granddaughter and one of her friends for their Easter Sunday morning.  They were away camping, but still enjoyed a visit from the Easter Bunny!

Each barrette has 3 flowers die cut from felt in graduated sizes, either hot glued together or hand stitched whichever you prefer (this time I hand stitched).  The center of each has a hand crocheted flower by the lovely Christina MacLaren (Sea Glass Papercraft) and then I stitched a fancy button to the crocheted flower to finish it off.

Once the flowers were assembled I used a very clever stamp & die set called Boutique Accessories from PTI which allows you to have a felt cover for the barrette to slide into I stitched them together with some  embroidery floss (only took a minute or two since the die cuts holes showing where to stitch, then a dab and I mean a dab of hot glue to adhere the flowers to the felt barrette. I had admired these adorable little crochet cuties early last year and Christina was gracious enough to make several and send them to me, thank you again Christina, hopefully I'm on a roll and ready to make some more.

I forgot to take a close up picture of the finished product, so here is an earlier version I made a while ago made pretty much the same way.

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope you visit again.

Oh these were so cute! They look adorable in their hair too. Cute gal pals...and I just know Arden loves each and every "special" handmade gift from Nana! Hugs.
