Create with Connie & Mary {CCMC 155}

Here's a sketch from Create with Connie & Mary that I thought I'd try out and the fact that I forgot a recent birthday allows me to use this sketch for a belated birthday card.

I pretty much followed the sketch using an older DSP - Haiku. I thought the colors in this set were so pretty and it included several borders of the larger 12 X 12 paper, which
I used on the bottom of my card in lieu of ribbon. I die cut a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock which I embossed (although it's rather difficult to see in the photo). Rather than cut the die piece in half I scored it and wrapped it around the edge of the card allowing some of the design to peek inside.

I cut a circle of whisper white cs, stamped it with a flower from Fabulous Florets using the rock and roll technique for the flower to incorporate both colors. I added a portion of the stem and matted it onto a larger circle of Old Olive cs, stamped my sentiment at the bottom, added two rhinestones and called it done!

All supplies are Stampin' Up

Card stock: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive & DSP-Haiku
Inks: Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron
Stamp: Fabulous Florets
Sentiment: Humor in High Heels
Die: Top note and circle dies
Texturz Plates: Backgrounds 1
Two orange Rhinestones

Love how you wrapped the top die around the card--finishes the inside perfectly! The Haiku DSP is gorgeous paired with the Fabulous Florets stamp set too! So glad you could join us at Create with Connie & Mary this week!

Nancy this card is FAB - U - Lous! I love the colors and crisp feel of the overall card. The DSP worked so wonderfully...AND I especially like how you wrapped the Top Note around the card. Genious! It was even prettier in person.

I really like how you folded the top note die to partially cover the front and the inside. Clever! And I wish we still had that DSP. Thanks for joining us at Create with Connie & Mary!
