Way too long since I last posted, so here are a few cards I remembered to photograph before mailing.
Young teen birthdays, adult birthdays, thank you's, etc.

This card was for my one brother's 85th birthday.  The motor cycle was colored purple because that's the color of his "trike" he still rides at 85 years young!  Woo hoo!!

WEDDING CARD

Lakeside Anniversary PP350

Hi there,
Yup really, 7 months since a posting and now two in one day!

Here is a card I made for a young couple who will be getting married this coming weekend in Grand Rapids, MI.  Their wedding invitation was hand made by the bride-to-be, using paper doilies so I thought I would create a similar theme that she would appreciate. I die cut the scalloped circle and  heat embossed with silver EP as well as the sentiment, this was then popped up onto a paper doily (I was so wishing I had silver doilies, but...) added a strip of silver glitzy paper then adhered it to an embossed panel and that's it.

This is the back of the envelope that I embossed with a Mr and Mrs sentiment kinda difficult to get a good photo with the silver embossing.

FINALLY A POST!

Here it is almost 7 months since my last posting....I needed a birthday card for a special friend and this is what I came up with (after viewing the many different versions of this stamp/die set on Pinterest).

I'm not even sure if it's a "special" birthday for my friend, but in case I thought I'd make it special looking with all the gold paper.

Can you notice the shadow wording?  That happened as an accident!  I had stamped the sentiment once in gold ink and then again (moving it just a smidge) in black.  I love how it turned out, what do you think?

Here's a picture of the first version, which I actually preferred, but couldn't quite duplicate it, but I'm still happy with the outcome.

I though it was kinda cool.

THANK YOU CARD

Hi there,
Another quick and clean card

I love this clean and simple look.  The stitched rectangle dies were a gift from my talented and creative daughter, Nance Leedy of Canopy Crafts.
I found the image sitting in a basket on my desk and decided to use it, so I cut it down to size and matted it on a "similar" color to the words in the image, then adhered it to a slightly larger stitched rectangle and that's it.  I kept the inside plain as I wanted to write a personal note.

Flamingo Thank you

Here's a cute little card I needed as a Thank you.  A fairly quick and easy card.

I die cut the flamingo from a piece of card stock where I wanted it to be then  die cut it again from a separate piece of white card stock.  I then placed the image back into the die space, using my trusty Misti I was able to line it up perfectly and stamp it (look how perfectly the eye and beak came out). 

The legs were a separate die and stamp and I just realized I had used a pink card stock when I stamp it.   The effect I wanted was the stamped bird, but still the cut shape visible on the front of the card.
I added the simple plants along with pools of water for the standing bird.  The sentiment is a very old retired one that I was able to curve as if the bird was saying it.  A little bit of pink embroidery floss to the bottom of the card before I adhered it to an A-5 card.

THREE RECENT CARDS

Hi Di (since you're almost the only one who looks at my blog),

Anyhow here are three cards I made recently, this first one you should recognize with the clear window looking into the card, as the one I sent to John for his birthday.  Hope he got it in time.

It is a card I copied from someone on Pinterest can't remember her blog name though.  She had a nice tutorial explaining the dimensions of all pieces for the card, which made it pretty simple to follow along.

As you can see I made 2 of each design and later made several more of the Wetlands goose set.

Sending Get Well Bouquet

I made this card using a new stamp/die set, that I truly didn't understand when I first received it.  I had to go back to the original site and re-read the directions on how the sample card was made.  Now that I understand it, I can't believe how easy and beautifully it stamps.

The overall bouquet is an outline stamp, then you can stamp the solid images in a variety of colors or watercolor if that's what you want to do.  The way the leaves and flowers line up using my Misti is perfect.  I have always struggled with stamping onto "line" images or unto die cut pieces, not getting them to line up well, but using the Misti all the guess work is taken away.
